Bhigwan in monsoon time looks beautiful with the green sloping grasslands. My focus on this visit was to track the Indian Grey Wolf, which had been in news lately because of human attacks by wolves in UP! Spending time with a pack of 7 wolves was a splendid experience indeed! The other key target was the Painted Francolin, a long awaited lifer, and got some shots with superb backgrounds! A serendipitous find was a pair of Rock Bush Quail in perfect alignment! Got some shots of Indian Courser and Baya Weaver too.

In a subsequent visit in monsoon time to Pune, I had great shots and lush green backgrounds for many birds like Striolated Bunting, White-bellied Minivet, Shikra, Common Hawk Cuckoo, Broad-tailed Grassbird, Short Toed Snake Eagle, and Indian Spot-billed Duck.

Bhigwan is a 2 hours easy drive from Pune and has a great habitat mix of grasslands and water bodies. Famous for its fish and its raptors! The birds and animals that I found here were the Mottled Wood Owl, Montagu's Harrier, Greater Spotted Eagle, Indian Courser, Indian Eagle Owl, Rat Snakes, and Indian Fox and a beautiful sunset at the end!
