Jessami .

Jessami is on the border of Nagaland and Manipur, but on the Manipur side. About 5 hours’ drive from Dimapur airport. Close to Myanmar borders. This was my first visit here. The location where the Assam Regiment first fought with the Japanese in WW2. It is a beautiful hilly area and home to the state bird of both Manipur and Mizoram – Mrs Hume’s Pheasant! Apart from that, the other BIG catch here was the super rare Great Spotted Woodpecker! Also got some good photographs of Yellow Throated Laughingthrush, Large Hawk Cuckoo, and a colourful Indochinese Forest Lizard!
