Corbett is the largest and arguably the most beautiful of the Tiger forests in India in my view. However, the zone to focus is the most difficult zone to get bookings in – the Dhikala zone! The other zones are Dhela and Jhirna where tigers are seen but not as frequently as Dhikala. The tall sal trees, the river flowing in the middle of the forest, the white pebbles and rocks, the vast lake, the lovely grasslands – all combine to provide just the perfect ambience to find a tiger!

Within Corbett park itself, besides the tigers, many birds can be found. Some interesting ones I captured were the Common Kingfisher, Crested Kingfisher, Spot-bellied Eagle Owl, Hodgson's Bushchat, Tawny Fish Owl.

Dhikala is also one of the best places to see the elephants in wild, especially during the summer months! Am lucky to get a lovely portfolio of some elephants!

Spring had come early in Dhikala and was certainly a springtime for us! A lot of sightings of cubs of both Pedhwali and Paarwali! Crossing of the iconic Ramganga river by the tiger; coming face to face with a turtle; a leisurely swim in the “swimming pool”; against the background of the white rocks of the river bed – this time Dhikala offered all the dream frames! And then the Elephants with Jackals and against lovely backgrounds. Also the Slaty Blue Flycatcher, the Plumbeous Redstart, Brown Crake, Black Stork added to the birds portfolio!
