Jaisalmer.

The beauty of Jaisalmer and its desert and Sam Dunes is part of folklore. I became part of it for the first time in the cold month of January this year! The sun rise and sun sets, the camels on the dunes, the monuments like Bada Baagh etc more than justified my visit on its own..

However, the cherry on the cake was all the birds and lifers and other wildlife I got here!
Common Raven, Trumpeter Finch, Steppe Eagle, Desert Fox, Cream Courser, Desert Warbler

The biggest highlight of the whole trip was undoubtedly the encounter with the Great Indian Bustard. With only about 100-200 of them on this planet, it was an exhilarating experience to see 10 of them in one day! A totally memorable day for life with this lifer, and I do genuinely hope that future generations get to see this magnificent bird too..
