Manas is about 3 hours drive from Guwahati airport. Some good staying options have come there recently. One of the few parks where one can get the tigers, leopards (including black ones), wild buffaloes, bisons, rhinoceroses, and elephants! However, the tigers and leopards are rare sightings only. It is a great place for birds too, especially for the rare ones like Bengal Florican and Pied Harrier (both are found though in a vast bare grassland area about 2 hours from the main Manas gate). On the other side of Manas, where one can cross over too up to a distance too, is Bhutan. At this border, the Hornbills too are usually found (Great / Wreathed). The Silver-breasted Broadbill and Rufous-necklaced Laughing Thrush (both of whom I got good photos of) are other attractors here. Apart from them, I got to photograph the Slender-billed Babblers, Striated Grassbird, Rosy Minivet etc. Collared Falconet too is easy to find here.
