Pilibhit is a recent hotspot for tiger lovers. It is about a 5 hours drive from Delhi, and has dense forests on either side of a long canal. The “callings” are far less here (due to the density of the forests) and the chances of seeing them are largely on the multiple paths, mainly the “kachi” and “pacci” sadak. Some of my favourite photographs are from this forest.

In Pilibhit, I have now some excellent memories of tiger sightings (covered in another section), but there have also been some superb sightings like Brown Fish Owl, Crested Serpent Eagle, Black-necked Stork, Pied Hornbills, Blue-bearded Bee-eater, Peacocks, Changeable Hawk-Eagle, Jungle owls. And of course some great natural scenery shots!
