Goa was indeed a hidden surprise package for me! Not usually associated with wildlife and forests, Goa threw up an amazing diversity of wildlife for me at both and Bhagwaan Mahaveer wildlife sanctuaries. Travelling time to these places are long but the roads are wonderful and the scenery around makes it worthwhile!

Amongst the birds, I got great photographs of Vigor’s Sunbird, Rufous Woodpecker, Grey-fronted Green Pigeon, Ashy Drongo, Malabar Trogon, the flycatchers like Brown Breasted, White-bellied and the surprise Yellow-rumped! The elusive Dark-fronted Babbler, Malabar Imperial Pigeon and the Forest Wagtail, together with the Malabar Hornbills and the Swallows like Red-rumped and Barn made it a wonderful collection indeed!

Amongst other wildlife the spiders (Great Wood and Huntermans), the beautiful but aggressive Pit Viper snakes, the surprise Flying Squirrel and the biggest of them all - the Slender Loris!
